Paracinema ‘Kills’ it with Issue 19!

The latest issue of Paracinema Magazine is out and ready for you to jump head first into what promises to be the greatest issue of all time! And why, pray tell, might this issue be so off the chain?! Well, as the fantastic Garry Brown cover illustration shows, issue 19 features some serious love for one of my favorite film/films, Kill Bill. In fact, the issue features not one but TWO articles about Quentin Tarantino’s martial arts revenge epic, one of which comes from a very good friend of CNAMB, Zach from The Lightning Bug’s Lair, with the other Kill Bill piece coming from the one and only me.

Straight Pimpin': Paracinema's Top 10 Rites of Shirt

Now that Death-cember is over and done with and we are well into the new year, things will be slowing down here quite a bit because, quite frankly, I have a bunch of things going on that will keep me pretty occupied for the foreseeable future. I plan on doing some reviews and such for other sites as well as focusing on writing more articles for Paracinema Magazine, so as a result, CNAMB gets to feel the cold hand of neglect. I do have a few things on the horizon, though, namely a video where I'll being sharing all the awesome movie related Christmas gifts I received. And of course, with it being a new year, the time is winding down on doing my best of the year list. However, I still need some time to catch up on all the goodies I missed in 2012, so that likely won't be happening until sometime late in February.

Anyway, now that we're done catching up with one another, I have a bunch of fun stuff I want to share with yer purdy little face, so let's get right into it!

Over the holidays a few fine people sent me a few fine t-shirts. The first one I have to show you was made just for me by the good people over at T Shirt Printing.org. As you can see, it features my drunk Doc Loomis banner from this past Chucktober on a nice brown shirt, making it about as close to Caldor as it gets. And if you know me well enough, then you should know that Caldor is my favorite color (my blog template should be proof of that). 

The other shirt I found squatting in my mailbox is this rad Van Halen spoof tee 'Van Helsing', which was sent to me by the good peeps over at T Shirt Bordello. They've sent me a few cool shirts in the past and have a ton of radi-cool stuff for sale on their site, so head over there, check out what they've got and let them know that I sent you! Actually, come to think of it, I clogged their toilet last time I was over their house for dinner, so my name might be a bit of a sore subject.

A Baby Too Big to be Eaten?! Wah-wah-WHAT?!

Well, Chucktober is all over now, and as I whimper out of the month tired and underwhelmed due to an elongated state of blogging boredom, a less than exciting Halloween, and some personal bullshit, I have to reposition myself to shine that positive smile upon the world. Or something. Depending on my mental state, chances are things will be a little scarce around here, but hopefully that equates to some better quality post by yours truly. Only the finest in dick and fart jokes for my readers, I say!   

Anyway, I do have some classy content to share with you, but that content is at a place much classier than this, and that is Paracinema. If you feel the need to read about one of the most mind-bendingly strangest films I have ever seen, ever, then head on over to Paracinema to read my review of 1973's The Baby, a film about a baby who is literally too big for his britches.

Chucktober DVD Giveaway!

As I mentioned in my latest Dumpster Diving for Gold vlog post - which I fully expect you will watch at least ten more times… a day - I have picked up a few great films on DVD that I wanted to use as giveaways for my lovely readers. What sort of prompted me to do a giveaway at this time, right in the middle of Chucktober, was a little tweet I laid my eyes on the other day…

  

With this incredibly boner inducing news, I figured what better time to giveaway a copy of Undisputed III: Redemption than with a Scott Adkins tweet claiming that there is indeed a fourth Undisputed film in the works? First up is a review I wrote for Dream Home, a Hong Kong Slasher film about a woman who decides the best way to lower the market value of her dream home is to takeout a few of the surrounding residents. And when I say takeout I don't mean take them out for a nice surf 'n turf dinner followed by an ice-cream cone with rainbow sprinkles at the dairy queen, I mean takeout as in kill their asses.

New Paracinema and Argento Book Update!

Another shitty weekend for movies on TV, so I am forced to skip yet another Horror Hangover...I really hope this doesn't have to happen again for a while. However, now would be a great time to share with you some updates and if you don't wanna hear about them, I will have to force them upon you and in that case, would it be considered update rape?

Our good friend James Gracey's book, Dario Argento has been given what would seem to be a definitive release date of March 25th 2010. James is a great friend of CNAMB and an even greater writer who's knowledge of the Italian maestro's work is more than vast. Also, there is now a facebook fan page for Dario Argento that you can become a fan of, so head over there and show some love and support for one of our own!

Chuck Norris Ate My Baby Featured in Paracinema Magazine!!

Only about a week ago, I posted about the newest issue of Paracinema Magazine, issue 7 to be exact. I received my copy in the mail today, and while thumbing through the issue before I left the house for a long ass day of errand running and doctor's appointments, I made a discovery. What is that discovery you ask? Well, every issue of Paracinema has a section titled "Dawn of the Blog," which spotlights a cult film blog in every issue. And much to my delight, this very own blog that you are reading right here, Chuck Norris Ate My Baby is the Dawn of the Blog feature for issue 7! As some of you may know, in the past year I have been all over CNN, in Cosmo, but I am beyond elated about being featured in Paracinema Magazine for my blogging efforts! Pick up issue 7 (here) so you can read the overly kind words that were written about CNAMB, and while you’re at it, read some of the amazing articles that are in there...I know I can’t wait to read the one about Candyman and the history of Chicago’s Cabrini Green Housing Projects, amongst many other great articles! Paracinema Magazine Issue #7!

I have more than once sent you to Paracinema...The Blog to read my contributed brand of doo doo that the kind folks at Paracinema allow me to splatter from time to time. Moreover, if not for them, there would be no Chuck Norris Ate My Baby to be found, as Paracinema is where I got my start in the blogging world way back in March of this year. Can you imagine a world without Chuck Norris Ate My Baby?! The thought is truly terrifying, I know.

If you didn't know, Paracinema puts out a quarterly independent magazine that covers all types of cult and indie cinema, with articles that are more along the lines of deep analytical essays, not just reviews and previews as found in most genre mags that are out on shelves. Issue 7 is just around the corner and is now available for pre-order, and I must say, it looks like yet another winner in the awesome department!
