Best part, it’s a semi-return to familiar territory, with tonight's jam being brought to us courtesy of A Nightmare on Elm Street film! I say semi-return only because the song featured doesn’t have an official movie related music video, and if any music video doesn’t at least a little something to do with the movie, I would rather find a clip from the movie (which wasn’t happening either), or something fan made…which is the case here tonight. Written by Dramarama lead singer, John Easdale, Anything, Anything (I’ll Give You) is one of many classic tracks from Renny Harlin’s entry into Freddy’s world, with 1988’s, A Nightmare on Elm Street 4: The Dream Master. While I pretty much love, or at least enjoy, many of the songs featured here at Freddy’s Friday Night Dance Party, Anything, Anything (I’ll Give You) is a fucking Awesome, Awesome (For Real) song and one of my favorites ever since I was young enough to smoke. This one is right up there with the more recent Dance Party tune, Pet Sematary from The Ramones, and that says a whole heck of a lot. An amazing song, that still rocks so hard even to this day and one that I will always listen to when I practice my yellow belt Karate while in my bedroom. Face me, Krueger.
What up daaawg?! First off, I would hate to lead you astray with the title of this post, as the song Bring Your Daughter to the Slaaaaaaaugh-ter! is in fact a song written for a Nightmare film. In fact, it was originally recorded and released by a solo Bruce Dickinson for A Nightmare on Elm Street 5: The Dream Child, but there was never a Nightmare themed video made for the song (bummer!), and as you will find out, the title of this post is more than fitting for our jammity jammy jam this fine Friday evening! And oh boy, this is the Friday to check out the hottest club in a 2 mile radius - Freddy's Friday Night Dance Party!!! Whoop whoooo! Tonight's Dance Part-tay marks the big comeback of the one - the only - the always bony...dj SKELE-TOOOOOONE! Ladies, ladies...please, keep your shirts on! I understand your excitement about Skele-tone's return, but save it for later! *cough*preferably when we're alone*cough* You know when dj Skele-tone is here, you will be shaking that tight little rear, and it looks to be no different dear, as he has brought with him a copy of Love Kills performed by glam gods, Vinnie Vincent Invasion!! Let's get this party started!

Love Kills was released in 1988 by the Vinnie Vincent Invasion for their second album, All Systems Go, but more notably appeared on the soundtrack for A Nightmare on Elm Street 4: The Dream Master. Vinnie Vincent Invasion consisted of band founder and former Kiss guitarist, Vinnie Vincent with Dana Strum on bass, Bobby Rock on drums, and after a changing of the metal god guard, Mark Slaughter (get it now?!) belting the vocals. I am very familiar with almost every video presented here at Freddy's Friday Night Dance Party, but Love Kills has for whatever reason, completely escaped my knowledge - though, that could partially be due to the video never being featured on any of the DVD releases.
I do dig this solid little rock ballad and the video is great too, being filled with some clips from the film intertwined with the rock! Also, it appears that the band is performing in the same church where Alice and Freddy have there face off at the end of Dream Master, or more famously, the place where Freddy screamed "It's a boy!" in Dream Child. Outside of the Nightmare clips, I was extremely pumped when I saw the Headbangers Ball logo...but the star is truly the band. I love how the video starts, with Mark (that's what I call him) walking around slowly, elegantly even, with the wind flowing through his gorgeous hair…wind caused by the power of his magical voice! I really do hope you stuck it out to the end of the video - it would be a shame for you to miss the guitarist as he decides to shred whilst wearing a Freddy glove, where he then proceeds to do an "Oh stop it!" motion at the camera. It is truly menacing, yet sexy! Moreover, I did see a windmill guitar move that was not relevant to the music playing...at all, and that is exactly why it rules.
Okay, I have more than exceeded my time here tonight, so let's get back to the dancin' and romancin'! Ladies...now's the time to remove your shirts, cause I'm feeling a little frisky! And when I say fat, I mean F-A-T, because finally, Skele-tone has brought with him - his copy of Are you ready for Freddy? as done by the infamous 80's hip-hop group, The Fat Boys! This should be one hell of a dance party, where the tunes are fat, but the ladies are mad skinny from all the blow they do! First of all, I thought horizontal stripes would be a no-no for a heavyset person, and vertical was the way, but whatever…I'm not here to judge. The Fat Boys consisted of Mark Morales aka "Prince Markie Dee" - Damon Wimbley aka "Kool Rock-Ski" - and The Human Beat Box himself, Darren Robinson aka "Buff Love." Buff Love might be the greatest name in Hip-Hop history...the name says it all! Are You Ready For Freddy? was written for 1988's A Nightmare on Elm Street 4: The Dream Master, and also appeared on 1997’s best of album - All Meat: No Filler. Even though I love Dream Warriors, I always liked this one just a little bit more. It's such a fun video and song, and how great is it that Freddy raps? And to top it off, his skills are garbage! Not that I don't appreciate lyrics like..."You see my name is Freddy - and I'm here to say - I'll wrap you up - and take you away! And if you feel like your tired - and ready for bed - Don't fall asleep - or you'll wake up dead!" Watch out now, he's like the next Ja Rule, but instead, he could be Claw Rule! Also, while it's a little embarrassing to admit, I always liked the songs chorus as sung by whoever the girl is, I mean, there isn't a female in The Fat Boys - so I like to think she's a ghost! "Watch out - or Freddy - will bust your heart!" Right on sister!

On the hip-hop docket tonight, dj Skele-tone has something that will blow your mind! He will be playing DJ Jazzy Jeff and the Fresh Prince’s hip-hop horror classic, ANightmare on My Street! See below for an explanation as to the strange video choice…we wouldn’t want you to think the guy that drives the El Camino slipped something into your drink again.

Released in 1988 and written by Pete Q. Harris, Will Smith, and Jeffrey Townes (best known as DJ Jazzy Jeff) and featured on the album “He‘s the DJ, I‘m the Rapper,” ANightmare on My Street was created to coincide with A Nightmare on Elm Street 4: The Dream Master. However, some behind closed doors business gone bad (involving other film properties), resulted in a rift between New Line Cinema and the hip-hop duo, resulting in the song being denounced by New Line as having any connection to the Nightmare property. It was to the point that all pressings of the single and the album had a disclaimer stating that the song had no affiliation with the series. There was even a video that was made for the song, and I think I remember seeing it, but it is rumored that it was aired either just a few times, or not at all. Whether it played at all or not, New Line buried the video for no one to ever see again, and thus, the still very cool It‘s the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown hybrid. Thought you all would enjoy that choice, as I love it! I searched pretty long and hard (ahem) for the actual video, well, like more than ten minutes at least, but no luck finding it. If there were one thing that could slay Freddy Krueger though, it would be that shrill bitch, Lucy, not the star of Wild Wild West.
