It's fun, but no better than what one should expect from it. Also, I always find the rebellious daughter to be so annoying in most movies like this. And that is mostly due to the fact that they always seem to make things worse!

As for Bellows, I think you hit it right on the head. I wasn't aware of him beforehand, but I couldn't even handle how over-the-top he was and was surprised to see he had any sort of credible work! I've seen some crazy performances, but he took the cake.Matt-suzakahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16215962688591291944noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8235923248137948919.post-75795611396606370362011-08-21T21:50:48.399-04:002011-08-21T21:50:48.399-04:00Yeah, a very mehish film, but it certainly deliver...Yeah, a very mehish film, but it certainly delivers what you expect. Why is it that so many action films have such strong focuses on 'rebellious teenage daughter that dad must be overly protective of' storylines? Freud could probably explain it.

I will say, Gil Bellows was the highlight for me here. It's like he accidentally got cast as the villain and then decided he was going to act the living hell out of every moment in fear that he would never get this kind of role again.

And let's face it: he probably will not.deadlydollshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06061028044836745499noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8235923248137948919.post-82294620411043889122011-08-21T19:44:08.686-04:002011-08-21T19:44:08.686-04:00Man, I wish that "sly guy" was in it mor...Man, I wish that "sly guy" was in it more. It really SPLOIS my day!

I feel the same way about Austin. He isn't an A level action star. Heck, he struggles to be a B grade action star when compared to others, but he has a great presence and I really enjoy watching him on screen. He's more than competent enough for me to enjoy as a DTV action star, and he seems to be getting a good number of roles, which is great.

He has that film coming out (or it may be out already) with Micheal Jai White called Tactical Force that I really want to check out. MJW is enough to sell me on any action movie; throw in some Stone, and I'm all in. That sounds kind of homoerotic.Matt-suzakahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16215962688591291944noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8235923248137948919.post-24627690415712430892011-08-19T03:30:56.068-04:002011-08-19T03:30:56.068-04:00Even though I've already seen it, I appreciate...Even though I've already seen it, I appreciate the SPLOIER alert. As disappointing as Austin's straight to DVD films I have been, I keep going back to them (although I have some catching up to do with the last two that came out), mostly because I desperately want Austin to succeed as an action star, even though I know deep down inside that he's not a good enough actor to carry a film. The fact that he's getting work and filmmakers are capitalizing on Austin as a draw with a built-in audience is fine with me... as long as he's doing something. The highlight of this one for me was easily the Daniels/Austin brawl. I also got a kick out of the EXPENDABLES connections, with Austin, Daniels, and Roberts. Plus, the Canadian actress who plays the daughter is cute.

Like you said, though, the technical aspects leave so much to be desired. It just looks really bland and there's very little style to speak of, if any.Aaronhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02153426751208051792noreply@blogger.com
